We design, build and run mission critical software for health and human services organizations.
Ratio is a technology consulting company that specializes in helping government agencies and healthcare organizations solve messy data integration challenges.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we've worked in partnership with leading NGOs and public health agencies to build and manage open-source software. Our work has improved the efficiency of public health interventions like contact tracing and case investigation for state and local health departments.
Our typical work schedule is 4-day, 32-hour weeks. While we occasionally stretch outside of that schedule to respond to production incidents or prepare for a product launch, it's important to us to build a resilient organization that works at a sustainable pace (and we encourage you to ask our team about their experience with this in your interview).
We work with organizations ranging from seed-stage digital health startups through state and local public health agencies. We continue to pursue opportunities to help government and healthcare organizations fulfill their important, service-oriented missions, and we're looking for new folks to join us!
We're looking for a Technical Instructor to teach Carpentries workshops on R and statistical methods to staff at a state-level public health agency. We expect you'll contribute to the effort 5-10 hours per week for approximately 4-6 weeks starting in March, and be open to the possibility of extending the contract, depending on client needs. There will likely be some prep work too, to be determined.
You will be working with another certified Carpentries instructor to deliver training as part of a data upskilling initiative at a state public health agency. Some existing Carpentries lessons will need to be modified to use public health data in order to make the content highly relatable for the learners. We are looking for someone who can both adapt the existing lessons and deliver them virtually.
We will start off by reviewing your resume and cover letter and then schedule a call if we think you may be a good fit. If we decide to proceed, the next round will include conversations with multiple team members. If we decide to contract with you, it will be contingent on passing a background check (see note below). We’ll be in close contact as the process unfolds.
